This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). 2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information in connection with your use of the Service:

  • Account Information: When you register as a seller, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and business name.
  • Transaction Data: We collect details about the products you list, orders received, and payment transactions processed through the platform.
  • Buyer Information: When a customer places an order, we collect their name, phone number, and delivery address solely to fulfil that order.
  • Device & Usage Data: We automatically collect information about your device (model, OS version), app usage patterns, IP address, and general location (city/region level) to improve the Service.
  • Payment Information: Payment transactions are processed by Paystack. We do not store your full mobile money account details — Paystack handles this securely in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your Edey seller account
  • Process orders and facilitate payments between sellers and buyers
  • Send you push notifications and SMS messages about orders, deliveries, and account activity
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
  • Improve, personalise, and develop the Service
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraudulent activity
  • Comply with legal obligations under applicable Ghanaian law

4. Payments & Paystack

All payment processing on Edey is handled by Paystack, a third-party payment processor. When you make or receive a payment, your financial information is transmitted directly to Paystack's secure servers. We do not store credit card numbers or full mobile money account credentials. 5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share data with Paystack (payments), SMS gateway providers (order notifications), and cloud infrastructure providers strictly to operate the Service.
  • Delivery Partners: Sellers' rider/delivery agents receive the minimum order and delivery information necessary to fulfil deliveries.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, including under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

6. Ghana Data Protection Act Compliance

We operate in compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We have registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana and follow its guidelines for the collection, storage, and processing of personal data. 7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial regulations.
